    What do you think??
A friend of mine who use to breed guinea pigs and rabbits just got out of it and had 10- 30LB bags of " 100% Kiln dried soft wood shavings ". It doesn't say what type of wood.. but I took it anyhow, figuring if I couldnt use it in the snake tubs, I would compost it for the garden next year. So, do you think this stuff would be ok to use.. it doesnt have a smell ( except for the normal, freshly cut wood smell ). If I could use it I think the BPs would like it more than the newspaper as they could kind of burrow in it. I know it would be more maintenance, but if it makes the snakes happier its worth it.. And when its over I could just throw it in the fire pit and burn it, no?

it says 100% soft woods that would also include cedar snd when you kiln dry small wood shavings it doesnt have a smell as the whole wood might id say use it for the rodents just to be on the safe side

Pine is a soft wood. The stuff I use for my rats says the exact same thing on the bag.
I would not use it on your snakes.Better to just use newspaper till you can pick up some aspen or cypress.
There is also a product called cell sorb, I saw it in Daytona last year. Greg Graziani was using it i think.

Unless it's a display type of a setup, newspaper is the way to go.

There's a phone number on their website. Have you tried calling them and asking what kinds of wood are used? I'm gonna guess that it's at least part pine, just based on the company logo being pine trees, but it couldn't hurt to call and ask...

If it says soft wood I wouldn't use it. Cedar and pine would probably what its made up of it.
