    Snake Drinking...
I've seen my BP drink every now and then...and its usually just for a moment or two. But I just woke up and witnessed my RTB drinking, and he did it for almost 10 minutes straight (I interupted to pour more water in). He then drank a little more after I walked away. Is this normal? I've never seen a snake gulp it down like that. I know it may be a silly question...but I was under the impression that that was irregular behavior.

If this has to do with hydration issues...the humidity is at 55% right now (yay rain) and he had a perfect 1-piece shed last week. I've always only given him mice that have been soaked in hot water to thaw (he's only a year old).

So, is this normal? Or should I take him in for a checkup?

How old is the boa. I find that my older snakes drink more than the younger. Could be based on size? I don't know. My 3 year old bp drinks like a sailor. But my 08 bp hardly drinks anything.

I agree that size might have something to do with it. Obviously it would take a larger amount of water to hydrate a larger snake. I used to worry that I never saw Alice drink any water when I first got him (118 g) and now I see him drinking all the time (537 g).
