UPDATE - LOOK re: I'm pissed...in need of some luck.
Well after reading all of MeMes threads about her albinos, i wanted to take a look at my 100%het pair.:D
well i looked at my male and he's all curled up in his hide lookin good.

so i went to look and my female cuz she just shed a few days ago and i wanted another look. well i moved the hide and shes not there. no biggie cuz she always gets under the paper so im moving the paper and taking it out and nothing.... she's GONE..:O. my 100%het female is gone... :O:(:O

i tore my sons room apart and all the rooms upstairs and nothing.. im totally sick to my stomach, i can't find her anywhere. i cant even see how she got out of the rack, theres now way that i see..
i see my hopes of hatching out a albino in the future fading away fast.....
im gonna keep searching of course but every hour thats passes by i get even more pissed and sick..
so please send some luck my way please...

well first off take a few deep breaths.

then start looking for places that are warm and dark. keep all your windows and doors closed. maybe take a mouse and put it somewhere where she can get it . many people have lost snakes and barring a total house escape, most of them get found. (even a guy whos snake got out the window found his not to long ago. i cant find the thread) dont worry and you'll find her.

    good luck.

One of mine got out last year and I found it in the back of my oven. if you have a small heater, make small area of a room alot warmer than all other places and put a shoe box or something to hide in there too.

That sucks man. Good luck. Just keep your house on lockdown. I'm sure you'll find her soon.

pshhht...I had an escapee the other day. It was Lucielle!

I guess I didn't lock the tub right and she slid her fat a outta there!

I was trippin balls...and this was before I found out she was het albino. I looked all over the basement..and Jeff kept saying look in the laundry..look under the beds.. I finally calmed down and started to think...

    think like a snake. ;)

I needed to figure out first, how she got out..like direction wise. I started thinking..she must slid down the mid section of my rack...but she wasn't in that...so I had Jeff un-nail and lift the entire bottom of my rack, it is hollow under and just big enough for a fat a to get under...sure enough...there she was.

    So just think...think like a snake. ;)

Something warm..dark..and quiet. I am sure she isn't far!

I can only imagine how you must feel. In most cases the snake doesn't really have a way to leave the house and must be there somewhere.

Joe you must be going nuts! When did you last see her?

Make sure there's a blanket or something stuffed under the door just in case she can squish out of the room that way. Start a search in one corner and fan outwards checking everything especially deep inside any closets, under dressers, between mattresses, etc. If you figure there's no way a snake could get in there....check that place first!

If it gives you hope, we had one of our female snakes disappear on us. Out of a locked tub, out of a secure snake room. One little clip is all it took that wasn't quite clipped on right and she was gone. How she got out of that room I'm not sure. Either she got under the door or snuck out when the room was open during cleaning/feeding.

We found her, Joe, or rather she found us. On another floor of the house in a room (our master bedroom) where the door is shut 95% of the time. One day, out of the blue, there she was. Knocked over a stack of paperbacks and was parked on top like she was wondering when we'd finally get around to finding her. Not a mark on her, not much weight loss, not even acting stressed at all.....basically just a bit thirsty. She'd been missing 4 months.

Don't give up hope and keep looking. Also if you don't find her right away watch for evidence like urates, sheds, things moved out of place, that might indicate where she's at.
