    Whats your take on attaching this 2x4 vertical. I have four screws running trough the corner, 3 on L bracket, 1 in corner.

    Whats your suggestion? Thank you

    I'd use a compound mitre saw to make all three pieces locking 45 angles, then use big corner brackets and 3 1/2" screws.

    Quick and dirty but functional is drilling pilot holes through the brace and lumber. ream out hole in metal brace to just shy of screw head size. Two 3" screws and you done!

    any of those suggestions will work. I suggest adding wood glue to the joints also. It will make a huge difference and take out any wiggle you may have.
