took a leetle trip to NH

and had a lovely visit with miss Kara at NERD. I can't figure out which I like better-- Kara or the overwhelming candy shop that is NERD. Ok, ok-- it's Kara. Gracious, kind, loves my horse, loves animals as much as I do-- how much cooler can she be?

We looked at a very wide assortment of snakes in and out of my price range. And then finally chose this pretty teeny little boy. I really like him. I think the color in the pix is accurate. He gave me a little hiss when I finally put him in his little tiny tub home. I jostled him a little-- bad me-- and scared him. The hiss was quite adorable. I am smitten.

And after that, we hung around with a big heavy snake, which was quite fun, and looked at all sorts of special critters, one of which is my favorite snake so far-- very lovely and smooth and kind of a zennish snake, totally my type.

And then my friend, who came with me, picked out this wonderful guy:

He has a little bit of that zen thing going on too. Mellow, gorgeous. I am happy for her. And he gets to live with ME for a few months! So that is kid of fab too.

It is so awesome that you got to go to NERD; I am jealous and sooo wished that I lived closer to all the snake people :P

And then of course, we needed more rats, one to feed, and one to breed. This pretty little girl will make some babies for us. :D She did not wish to be a model and squirmed around all over the place. She is a very pale dilute blue hooded girlie. Has the best qualities of ratness.

Your little spider guy is cute. And I'm so jealous that he hissed at you! So far none of our snakes have hissed. I must need to get some species that has a little more attitude! LOL!

The one your friend picked up is gorgeous. What is he?

My friend's snake is 'just' a het ghost possible het caramel. I think he is stunning. He's a fair size, maybe 700 g or so. I think he is going to be one of my favorite snakes.

Rats are hard to photograph!

I thought that guy looked more like "just" a normal than any morph I could think of, but he was just so handsome I couldn't be sure!

Yes, he has just enough of that eye-catching quality that you aren't sure what you are looking at.

Gosh, what a fun day. I have gotten everyone all settled and my kids are in bed and I am just watching my guy explore a little bit. *sigh* :)

Looks like a GREAT trip, but I don't see how it could be anything but that. ;)
