To clean or not to clean?

I have just encountered something new in my snake keeping experience, and I don't remember ever reading about it either.

What do you do when a snake poops right after eating? I fed her in the evening, and in the morning there was a big poo in her enclosure.

I have already reached in with a paper towel and picked up the poo. I thought I might wait to actually change the substrate (paper towels) until 48 hrs after she ate. Or would you recommend I go ahead and change it right away and just do it as quickly as possible to not disturb her too much?

I think if she had peed I'd have no choice but to clean it right away, because she pees a lot at a time! Or would you recommend waiting in this case also?

I'ts fine to go ahead and clean the tub. Its excessive handeling that can cause problems right after feeding after a few hours your fine to take care of the fumign nasty that was left.

Yup I tend to clean it up as soon as I see it as well - I am just a little gentler when picking them up and transporting to the holding tub.

Holding tub... see, there's the issue. She outgrew the one I always used to use, so the past several times I've cleaned her enclosure it has been while one of the other family members holds her. Was putting off buying something cuz we are going to be either buying or building a rack very soon and then I'd have extra spaces. The animals always know when you are trying to cut a corner and find a way to make you fix it don't they?

Although I was slightly concerned about moving her when her tummy was full since she isn't used to it the way she would be if she was one of those snakes that got fed out of her enclosure.

Tub issue now resolved...enclosure now cleaned. :)
