    Eddie trying to escape
Maybe this is "normal", but I thought I'd ask. Do yours try to find a way out and escape their vivarium? Lately I've noticed Eddie even more active than normal in the evenings. He even moves around a lot more when I get him out than what he use to. He use to just sit there most of the time.

I'm watching him now (about 01:30 here) and he is very active and presses himself up into a corner to gets on top of his hides and then gets his head as far up to the top as possible. Sniffin around the screen areas I left open for ventilation. Below is a pic of what he is doing, from the bottom. When on top of things he does the same, but he can actually get his body/head on the top and sniff around.

Do yours act this way? Is he just more comfortable in his environment now, hence the more activity even when taken out?

every damn night! I had to put a bunch of stuff on his tank. luckily when he does get out he goes to the same place. So I can always find him.

Stan does that too. I work nights so the nights I don't work I'm up and I watch him just pushing and pushing and pushing. I scold him like a dog.... ;) (It doesn' really have much effect on him...)

Mine does this too - always trying to sniff the sweet air of freedom. For several hours during active time (dusk to midnight-ish) It doesn't help that one time she actually escaped (I caught her in the act) and seems to remember how she did it the first time, and so keeps trying.

I noticed something about your enclosure though - it looks like you have Fluker's thermometer/hygro? I had the same ones at first and recently replaced with a digital - the dial had been off by a full ten degrees. Pretty shocking. So if your Eddie's trying to escape all the time, it might be a temperature problem? Maybe you're double-checking temps with something else though, and he's just being a curious python :) They always sense the most promising avenue of escape!

Yea, I've just never taken those down. I have two digitals, one on each side. You can see one in the top right of the pic (yellow). Recently got a laser one so I can check all over the place ( I love gadgets ). Thanks though! I always welcome observations and suggestions!

mine does this very often, hes only successfully escaped twice.
first time he didn'y get too far.

but the second time, i went away for the weekend and came back home to him missing....eventually found him wrapped around the warm motor of my mini fridge, i had to unscrew the whole motor out in order to get him out
