    Emery's rat snake
Hi all well im adopting a rat snake from the herpsociety up in seattle PNWHS and im really excited hes about 4 1/2 feet long and is totally chill. I was wondering if anyone up here has emerys and i cant find ANY care sheet on them so im just going to base it on a general rat snake care sheet. SO lets see some pics of your snakes.:D

I believe it is Emory or maybe Emori or Emoryi ??? Not sure, I think I've seen it spelled different ways. That might help you find more information.

Anyway, if it is the one I'm thinking of, it is also called the great plains rat snake, and is closely related to corns, so I'd guess (but do not know) that care would be similar.

They're more than closely related. They're in the same genus!
Corn snakes are a type of rat snake.. :]

I haven't heard anything about that type of rat but hope you like him!

I knew that corn snakes are a type of rat snake. What I was trying to say is that the Emory is more closely related to corns than many other rat snakes. Like a mandarin rat snake or lots of others.

Good clarification though, because lots of people don't realize that and I probably should have been more clear.
