Digital Scales

I recently sent my digital scale to the "bone yard" and looking for a new one. I don't want to spend a whole ton of money but want to get something that weighs both in ounces and grams.

I was wondering what everyone here uses? Pros and cons?

I have been using a combo of a postal scale and a digital industrial counting scale (way to expensive) from my uncles shipping business. Now that I have moved I am looking to get one soon too. I am planning on getting a kitchen scale. I forget the brand names, but walmart carries quite a few with an 11 lb capacity and accuracy to the gram, with the ability to read in ounces as well. Hope this helps.

We use the 7001DX which goes up to 15 lbs/7000 grams in 0.1 oz/1 g increments. So far we're loving it. No need to spend the cash on the extra AC power adapter, this thing does NOT eat batteries at all. I love the hold feature on it so you can hold the weight in the display while you are putting the snake away (comes in handy when your snake is not feeling co-operative that day LOL).

We have the same as Frankkeno and we have loved it so far. The bucket it comes with is a little small for weighing the larger snakes but it is useful for the smaller one. One feature I love about it is you can tare it and it zeros itself out if you have to use a larger platform to weigh the larger snakes. As discussed above the hold button is great also. We have the ac adapter as well and it is ready when you are. It also has a power off feature after no use after a period of time. Sometimes I forget to turn it off and it does it for me. Hope this helps.

LOL Thank goodness for that power off feature or I really would be eating batteries since I always forget to turn the darn scale off! :oops:

That tare feature is helpful as we use a huge plastic bowl for the bigger snakes (though a few have even outgrown that! :O)
