Ok well i've got a new glass viv for my ball python and i've read the sticky at the top of the page (Great Work) But i didn't get the plexiglas thing? i need to get a ceramic bulb for my ball so i can get good ambiant temps. But how do i actually get the lamp to heat the viv without it being inside or cracking the glass? Ahhhh Help me!!!Oh and im going to but a Exo Terra Wire light for the bulb (It is a lamp).

I dont know if im being silly, but dont you rest it on the tank lid. Presuming it's a screen top?

If you dont want it touching the screen, then take a piece of hardboard, and cut a hole in it big enough for the lamp housing to rest on and put that on top of the screen.

Really hope im not missing something here

The tank in that link says it has a mesh top, right? Wouldn't that be the wire top, not glass?

Ok, first off CALM DOWN. :)

The tank you got is a good one with a slide/lock SCREEN top. Very good for snakes. I can help you out with setting it up, but I'll have to PM you my setup list since it's rather long. :)

Rather than a bulb, which suck out humidity and aren't really a proper source for main heating, you need an Under Tank Heating pad or Flexwatt heat tape and a thermostat. Snakes, BPs especially, fair best getting their heat from below.
But if you wanted to use a lamp for viewing or ambient air temp boosts, then you would suspend it 8-12" above the lid and use no higher than a 50watt bulb.

I'll send that list to ya ASAP.
