housing 2 females together
i am about to get another female ball python. and i was wondering if you can keep them together if the tank is large enough and enough shelters for both. i have heard yes and no so i am still deciding what is right/ any answers?
Re: housing 2 females together
I would not because it would be difficult for me to determine who poo'd, etc.
I would not be comfortable in thinking that I know snakes well enough to be able to identify their subtle behaviors correctly (dominance, stress, etc.)
I would also not want to run the risk of one becoming ill and the other not being able to be qt'd.
It is my belief from everything that I have read and advice given consistently on this and other forums that a co-mingling of habitat ought only happen for the short term purpose of breeding.
Re: housing 2 females together
I have housed two females together. That was before I knew what I was doing. They both went off food until I separated them. Although unlikely one can eat the other resulting in 2 dead snakes.
