So I went with a new idea...
I had a 55g (split) housing a ball and a king. It was too heavy; hard to heat etc. I was considering a few different options (including a rack). I went with this:
Walmart sells a Black and Decker 4 Shelve for $29. I had a 10g laying around and bought a 20g used. This will let me keep 4 snakes against my wall (until I obtain enough to warrant a rack). It looks good and takes up less space than the 55g (pictured below).
You can fit a 20-29g on the top... a 10 standard will fit below (height restictions for standards). A 20-29g will fit 3rd down and same on bottom as the second down. Now there is plenty of room for a larger 2 3 and 4 (down) but it's restricted on height on standard glass aquariums. The next 2 will be custom to fill the width and height.
Question... I have the cheapo (with multiple locks!) screen lids on both. Will they tolerate a lot of lamp heat? My buddy says they've been known to melt on rare occasions (maybe lemon lids)
Also.. I want to keep heat and humidity in the top (20g for the ball)... put some black plastic over part of the mesh?

Here are before and after pics

    Bump... pics are fixed.
What can you tell me about the mesh screen lids and heat?
What about covering the left half of the mesh lid on the top (ball) for holding heat and humidity?

I use two of the 50W Infrared Zoomed bulbs that have yet to over heat the metal. What's the wattage coming from the bulbs? Otherwise I don't think you should have a problem.

There's a 100 in it right now... but I will switch down once I foil up the other side a bit to hold in heat/humidity.
I also have a lamp dimmer on it.

    Hmm...
I wonder how to go about setting these 20g standard aquariums up as 20g longs?
Like with a plexi door (ventelated) on a hinge?
    That would be cool...

Suggestions on that? What kinda glue would hold strong on the glass? This project idea sounds fairly simple...
