    the big move
ok so I'm moving from Wheaton IL to Los Angeles CA. What I'm wondering is what would be the best way to take my baby reticulated python. Does anyone know if your allowed to take snakes on a plane. (Wise cracks welcome)Or would it be best to just have my roommate overnite ship it when i get settled in.

Here's Delta's policy, the rest are similar. Even if you find a carrier that takes snakes, last time I checked it was more expensive to bring the snake on the plane than to have it shipped. What I ended up doing was taking a bus instead of a plane and carrying it with me in a sack. Nobody was the wiser.

Reptiles, amphibians, and fish are only accepted as air cargo, not as carry-on or checked baggage. Shipments must comply with the container requirements of the current edition of the IATA Live Animal Regulations.

Delta will not accept shipments of live snake (venomous or non-venomous) or venomous reptiles for carriage from an unknown shipper.

Hi there! Yes overnight is the way to go. I had my B.P. shipped to me overnight from Texas were my Uncle is to Virginia in FEBRUARY with a few hot hands in the box wrapped with a pillow case and some paper to keep in somewhat tight. SO yes I say go overnight!
