Well, I breed my own mice (and soon rats as well) as do most people around here. However, most specialty stores will sell feeders or you can get your snakes on frozen/thawed and order from a number of suppliers.

Pet store rodents are overpriced and often sickly anyway. Best to try and find another source ASAP.

And that's a cute corn snake in your avatar. :)

Frozen online is an option. If you need live, the only place you could go is a petstore or to breed your own. :]

My first choice for on-line buying is The Mouse Factory (http://www.themousefactory.com/index.html). In my opinion, their rodents are the best and healthiest I have ever seen.

A distant second is Big Cheese... :(

Why so sad about that? Care to share? :]

I was totally spoiled by the cleanliness, health, low odor, and packaging of The Mouse Factory rats. It's a little crazy, but it seems as though they really honor their rodents before and after death. I respect that.

Then I allowed myself to be lured in by the lower prices of Big Cheese. Yuck!! Feces, blood, squished rats, smellier than all get out (like, gag) and just sickly looking. I can't wait to use them all and then go back to The Mouse Factory for my snakes. Like I was telling someone else, I feed my family well to keep them healthy, I feed my dog well to keep him healthy and I believe I owe it to my snakes to feed them well to keep them healthy

Yep, I've heard the same. You really have to ask around before picking a source these days...

I ordered from them, got my order. 20 weaned rats. they look fine to me, frozen. ha ha package was awesome, no smell of dead rats to me.

If you can't order right away, go to Petco , they sell frozen mice/rats called gourmet rodents. I heard they aren't the best, but that is what I was feeding my bp- george :taz:

Avoid those Petco and Petsmart frozen rodents! They are really crap. Overpriced big time, and always right on the verge of being rotten. Trust me, you'd rather have your snake skip a week then feed them those things...

    Yep, I hear you.
And I know that more people will chime in with their good experiences. Power to you!! I hope they keep it up!!

I ordered too. Maybe they are not consistent? Who knows?

My money is going to The Mouse Factory and I feel really good about that :gj:
