OMG look who would have thought
so me and my finance have had this ball since January of this year and not once has she eaten. now understand that we had tried everything(we bought frozen/live/rats/asf/ we really had tried everything and she just wouldn't eat. well today i decided to try one more time before taking her back to the vet. and guess what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!she ate. i know this probably isn't the biggest deal but understand that i was worried and i was running out of options
Re: OMG look who would have thought
Congrats! Bet it feels like a huge weight has been lifted doesnt it:)
Re: OMG look who would have thought
lol you have no idea how happy i was when she struck at it. i really didn't think i had a chance since she is mid shed(i don't get that either because she has shed like six times since we have and her and no eaten once) but either way when she took it and actually ate it my finance actually started crying(it is her first snake) and i just couldn't believe that she even payed any attention to the mouse
Re: OMG look who would have thought
Some balls are just weird like that. I have a het albino female that eats very sporadically often fasting for 2 or 3 months at a time. It blows my mind when I look back in her cage and the rat is gone. I start to second guess myself if I even put a rat in their to begin with. I have even palpated the rat in her belly just to make sure I'm not crazy. I know, a little OCD eh?
Re: OMG look who would have thought
no i completely undestand what you are talking about. i actually watched the ball eat but the whole time i was thinking that maybe it was just eating some kind of news paper or something lol
Re: OMG look who would have thought

Congratulations!! I hope she keeps taking mice for you next week and beyond. :gj:
Re: OMG look who would have thought
Congrats on the successful feeding. Whatever you did, step by step, do it exactly the same next week. Once you figure out what is triggering a hesitant feeder to actually feed, don't deviate from it until they are well into a strong feeding pattern (or never if it's working for you and the snake). These snakes are definitely creatures of habit.
Re: OMG look who would have thought
