bp with scale rot

i need some advice about getting a stuck shed off (only the head has come off) my bp.he's under treatment for scale rot which is still quite bad.the vet told me salt water.won't this make the area where the scale rot is sting? i thought the snake had to be kept completely dry while it's got this condition,but i'm sure once the shed is off it should help the condition.any advice please?

maybe you could try just warm water?

Well I would just follow the advice in the bad shed sticky with the addition of salt as your vet recomends.

The process really doesn't take that long so it is still not like sitting in damp conditions for days/ hours at a time which is what needs to be avoided - hopefully one soak for about 30 minutes or so should be enough to let you get it all off then you can go back to the dry clean environment.:gj:

If you feel the need to prioritise (sp?) the process make sure no part of his body is completely encircled with stuck shed first then work on getting the remainder off.

If your lucky though it will all roll off like an old sock easily after the soak and be relatively stress free for both of you. :please:

No salt water trust me you do not want to put salt water on a wound.

For scale rot depending on the extent your snake could require antibiotics so I highly recommend you to consult an HERP vet.

It is is minor get some batadine clean up the area and apply some triple antibiotic ointment such as neosporin (without painkiller).

As far as the enclosure goes you want to replace the current substrate by dry clean paper towel.
