awesome... now mojo male ready to go
I just weighed Dash (390g) and checked him for sperm plugs while I had him out.. some of you may remember him as being the nasty little mojo male I got from our breeder, he got loose and stuck in the breeders dashboard the night i was going to get him. He had some scaring and has had a fairly nasty attitude since the occassion but we stuck it out with him and hope to have some mojos for next year :D Im very excited... officially all our males have sperm plugs.. too bad my mojo female is only a year old... she is 1000+ grams too :taz:

Cool to hear!
I have a quick question... how do you look for the plugs and what do they look like?? I'd like to check my two boys, especially my Het Albino.
Re: awesome... now mojo male ready to go
Sounds like she'll be good to go this coming season!:gj:
Re: awesome... now mojo male ready to go
Jason, ive been thinking about it... We feed all our snakes on a regular 5-7 day rotation depending on our feeder supplier, she takes a nice size mouse (sometimes two) so it isnt like we have been pumping her up, she looks nice and solid without being "sausage" looking hahaha..
Argentra: I would do a search here, im sure someone has pictures posted of what it looks like. It is for sure without a doubt different looking then urates. In my experience its white-yellow in color and almost slimy, like you would expect male excretion (For lack of better terms) to be. It comes right out of the tip of their hemipenes. I know Ralph has a video of him popping males and he shows a good view of what sperm plugs look like. Someday Ill have to take pictures of our animals being checked

Nothing wrong with feeding every 5 days. My snakes get 50-75g rats every 5 days....sometimes I double them up if they're still showing interest in food after putting down the first one. My pastel female was not quite 18 months when I started cooling her for the breeding season... she's actually my only female that i've gotten eggs from this season.
They can and will go if they're ready, but you won't know unless you try. With the way my mojave female is eating, I should have a shot at a lucy this upcoming season.:D

Yeah I bet, but I have a four foot, 06, 1200 gram male, shouldn't he be producing that much, or is he not old enough yet.

hey ashley try the one year old, 1000+ gram mojo female this year! is she one of those eaters that never refuses a meal? if you feel she can handle it try it and by breeding time she'll be even bigger.
