    Ball Python Not Using Hide
My Baby Ball Python hardly ever uses its hide. I used to have a shoe box in its tank for a hide. It went and curled up inside it sometimes during the afternoon but soon it started squishing itself between the box and the side of the tank. So last night I put in a half log hide(I know its not the best but I couldn't find the coconut hides) and it has been slithering around the cage all day.

Sounds like the poor little guy is stressed :(

    What are your temps/humidity, etc?

I'm using a heat lamp on a 12 hour cycle turning it off at night and I just sprayed the tank this morning and I keep a towel over half the tank.

I need to get some measuring devices but my store didn't have any.:(
Next weekend I'm going up to petsmart to get some aspen and I'll get some thermometers/hydrometers. What should I do until then?

Maybe your hides are not tight enough for him. They like stuff they can just fit under.
