    cranky BP
I got my BP a few months ago and she has been eating alittle inconsistenly. She will eat one week, go off for two, eat again, go off for one. When I first got her she struck at me alot. Like when she would come out of her hide and I would walk by the tank, she struck out. Now she comes out and she stops moving but she doesn't try to strike. If I walk up to the cage she just freezes or goes back into the hide. She has eaten two weeks in a row now and I was wondering when I can start taking her out and how I would go about doing it, with gloves on? I really don't want to get bit. My last BP was nice and gentle and she seems anything but. So I am alittle stand-off-ish (sp?) She is in a hide that the top comes off, its like a little rock. How would I get her out of there, I know with one that just lifts up thats all I would have to do but how do I maneuver her out of there. Especially if shes trying to bite me. I was also wondering how many times I should handle her and for how long to tame her down alittle. I guess all the striking could have been from stress but it lasted for about a month. Help Please!

To be honest. The pretty much only way to help get her to stop striking at you is to just pick her up no matter what. Through her little brain when you go to reach and she strikes and you put the top back on and leave her alone she thinks, "HAHA, that's what I will do from now on so nobody will ever bother me". I guess you might have to take a few bites before she learns you are not a threat.
