    Guide to ID a mojave?
One of the BPs we got at petsmart the other day looks a lot like a Mojave to my untrained eye. Any guides on determining whether or not its a mojave or a funny-looking normal?

Can't really bring a camera in to work and take pictures lol

I'm pretty new to Mojave’s myself but things I've noticed so far:

    1. The side alien head light patterns tend to be shaped like upside down triangles with a single dark alien eye shaped like an upside down triangle in the center. Normals tend to have more of an ET like shape with two eyes.

    2. White belly with no dark marks.

    3. Flames of fade to white in the center of the dark areas where they meet the belly. Generally wide dark pattern elements.

    4. High contrast with nice straw yellow dorsal stripe, dark black, and fading to gray (at least in my babies).

They really do stand out, at least the ones I've seen. Now there are more subtle members of this complex that also make white snakes. I think the single eye aliens and clear belly are pretty standard though but I've only seen pictures of most of the known alleles of this gene. Wide dark pattern seems to be fairly common in the group too.

    Post a pic!

    Here is mine:

The one at the store has colors that match mojaves very well. It also has a weird pattern... not exactly like most mojaves i've seen, but definitely different than most normals ive seen as well. That's why im unsure... Its mojave-like, but not exactly... But not exactly like any other normal ive seen either.

Your link doesn't work for me, is this what you where trying to link to?

    http://www.nextworldexotics.com/hgmoj.htm

I didn't look up his site because I assumed he wouldn't do Mojave as too obvious (sort of like a hunters guide to albino) but I see now he does have a nice one. I had checked a while back for a Sable or Chocolate guide but hadn't noticed the Mojave one.

The picture I posted is a Mojave for sure. The original poster is worried about taking a camera to work but I think that is the only way we will be able to answer. Either that or post where the store is so some other reader can go in and buy this animal and post it.

Manassas.... There are two here though, it's the one on sudley manor drive ;)

I assume its probably not a mojave, but a cool looking normal. But hey theres a chance you could get a $80 mojo lol.

I doubt its a mojo probably just a pretty normal. IMO mojo's are very easily spotted amongst normals. Heck on their own they stand out. My mojo blew me away when I got him I had never seen a mojo in person before then. :)
