Rescued bp is here. (DUW)
I picked up the "rescue" bp today (which is a re-homing and a sort of rescue...). This is the one that's 5.5 years old and smaller than my yearling. :( She's very friendly because the owner took her everywhere. She was being kept in a small terrarium - the kind you'd use for chameleons with the screen all around - so naturally humidity was practically non-existent. She had one "climbing tree" and a large waterbowl. That's it. When I got there the snake was curled up under a papertowel. The owner said to me, "I don't know why she does this. Whenever I put a paper towel in there she goes nuts over it." I just replied, "Maybe she likes to hide. :confuzd:" They said that when she was younger she was having such bad sheds that she had to have part of her tail removed. Go figure.
So anyway, I put her into a tub with TONS of paper towels and newspaper for her to hide in, as well as two normal hides and some foliage and a water dish. She's supposed to eat tonight so we'll see. She was eating a rat pup every two weeks or so, so her new schedule is a rat pup every 5-7 days. We'll see if we can't get some weight on the poor girl. Here's pictures:

Remember, that snake is 5 and a half years old! Just because it makes me so mad, here's a photo of my baby (1.5 years):

And my girl that's 4 years old:

Anyway, moving on:

And does this look like a retained eye cap to you all?

Oy, I'm gonna need some good luck on this one... :please:

Wow!! What a gorgeous girl!!!
Kudos to you and here's hoping for a smooth path of wellness and growth for that stunning snake :gj:
As for the eye cap question: It could just be dimpled due to lack of humidity. You'll be able to tell a lot more in a day or two :)

Oh what a sweetie!! And gorgeous coloring... wow. She's a lucky girl to be rescued by you. And that was certainly a rescue!
*SARCASM* Don't you just LOVE those people who are totally convinced the wrong stuff they're doing is just great for the snake?!*/SARCASM*
Sigh... my big female normal rescue came from almost the exact same situation. Lucky for her, tho, she wasn't with the moron long before he handed her over. She was in a small ExoTerra with just a huge plastic dish for water. No hide, no cover, no real heat, and her 'owner' took her out everywhere (especially to the liquor store) on his shoulders. She was luckier than the first BP, who went out with him everywhere during a CO winter.
Oh, and her eyes look just like your new one's with the retained caps. Already had a shed and it's still wrinkled.
Oh well, at least you have that beauty now and can get her back up to speed. :) Good luck with her, and sorry for the rant.

Shes ity bity lol. OTher than the extreme tininess she is very nice looking she would make some pretty babies too bad she is too small. .

Unbelievable that snake is over 5 years. I'm amazed she survived.

No humidity for mine either, and we live in AZ. Mine had a lot of stuck shed and dimples in his eyecaps, I soaked for the shed and the caps returned to normal - he just needed to get some water. Good luck with her, I think mine is small for his age as well, hes about 3 and my 07 is almost as big as him.
