tracking growth
i have had my BP 2 weeks now. this is the 4th i have owned. i was planning on keeping track of his/her growth rate better then the others i had. my plan is to weight every week and the weight of the meal. i am feeding every 5 days for the first few months then going to every 7 days. anyone think this is a good idea?

Re: tracking growth
I think it's a great idea and is how good research is conducted.
In my opinion, you'll learn a lot by looking back at your records :D

Re: tracking growth
I'd say that a good way to remember is to do it just before every feed. That way you won't be skipping weeks due to just having fed, etc

Re: tracking growth
I decided to do that too so I will weigh him every chance I get

Re: tracking growth
I have a pre made tracking growth chart.
But I only weigh & measure my bp every month, as I do with the other 4 reptiles I own.
It's great to see how they are growing!!:gj:

I would do it monthly after a poop. If your weighing him with his previous meal still inside your not getting an accurate weight.
I have been keeping detailed records for all my snakes and its pretty neat when you can chart the growth over a long period of time.

Re: tracking growth
I use the degei program and I weigh the 1st of every month. They you can go in and look at all the animals or just pick the ones. Its makes a chart and shows how much they have gained or lost. Here is where you can get it http://www.degei.com you can download a trial copy of it. But to get the full program you have to pay.
