    Some kidney stone relief tips
I'm sure I'm not the only one here that has experienced them, but Pat's recent bout with stones brings back recent painful memories.
    * disclaimer. I'm not a physician, but I've had a lot of stones.

Here's some meds the doc's have prescribed that helped me.
    1. Injection of Tramadol. This is great stuff. It seems to rival Morphine when dealing with kidney stones. It kills the pain, but doesn't make ya silly.

    2. Script for pain meds....Percocet taken with Phenergan works really well. The phenergan seems to enhance the percocet and helps with the nausea.

    3. For the pain running down your back and into the groin area...I found that getting in the shower with the water turned up as hot as you can stand it helps. I guess the heat relaxes you muscle allowing the stone to pass from the kidneys to the bladder a little easier.

My urologist recommended to drink fresh home maded lemonade to help prevent kidney stones. He said something about the acids in the lemons helps to dissolve the stones:confuzd:
I've even had one doctor tell me to drink 2 beers a day to flush the kidneys. :gj:

Does anybody know any means of relief from kidney stones.

BTW....I think I may have 1 or 2 stones put up somewhere. If I can find them....I'll take a pics so those who don't know what they look like can get a look at the little things that can cause a big man to blubber and pass out from the pain.

my friend knows someone on our cross country team that had 70, yep, 70 stones. shattered the old hospital record by like 30. needless to say that he had them surgically removed. i can't even imagine...
