Finally got the stuck shed removed (also, is this snake obese?)

I had some humidity problems that led to a really bad first shed. I tried to fix it with soaking and rubbing but couldn't get the part off around his neck head and eyes. I also tried using tape but it seemed to pull the skin off in a very unnatural way so I stopped.

What finally worked was soaking him in warm water about 20 minutes and then working the skin off gently with a damp cloth. Before I was applying a bit of pressure with my fingers against the cloth but this time I was much more gentle and it actually worked better that way. It all came off very easy and naturally once I got the right motions and cloth going. Both eyecaps are now perfectly off.

The pics below were taken just a few moments after I removed the skin. He is about 100 grams and eating small adult mice around 18 grams in size each every 5-7 days without skipping a beat. Huge, healthy turds on this one too. I noticed he has some excess skin around his scales though. Is he a little fat?

looks perfectly normal to me =]

He's a little stretched out though in out of them.

This one makes him look a bit bigger to me

I would say the opposite,give him a good feed.

Still doesn't look too fat IMO. Sometimes you will see the scales are stretched out after you feed him or also when he is going to poop. He looks good, it looks like you are on the right track with him. Just keep up the same feeding regimine and switch to larger mice when he is big enough to eat them.

You know when a snake is obese when they seem to have folds in their skin and are disproportioned.
Ball pythons are a fatter species of snake, if you compare them to any colubrid they have a much thicker middle. It's natural and not obese. :]
Edit: Also how old is he?

Not sure on that one. It's a CH petstore ball. I've had him about a month now so I'd say about 2 months of age. He ate a live 11g fuzzy/hoper a few days after settling in then I swithced to frozen 20g mice for the last 4 feedings. He's been eating every 5-6 days. First time I weighed him was about 2 weeks ago. He was 78grams after his first poop with me and is 100 now after the 2nd poop. So thats over 20grams growth in 2 weeks.
