    Baby 'Tiels.
My youngest son Nick has never been that big on reptiles, he's much more of a bird person. He's had a pair of cockatiels for several years and they always lay and hatch a few clutches of eggs every year. It's a lot of fun raising the babies, but you really have to spend a lot of time with them if you don't want birds that bite and are always afraid of you. These guys are about 3-4 weeks old now and are finally starting to look like birds. This is when they are at their funnest, and cuddliest.

Thanks Josh, I really can't take credit for these though. My son Nick does all the bird care. After spending a few years of constantly haranguing him to feed, water and clean them, he does it all pretty much on his own now. If you do get a bird eventually though, I highly recommend a cockatiel. As long as you work with them from an early age, they can be very rewarding companions.

Awww how cute! My nephew, many years ago, had a hand raised, socialized cockatiel and that bird was literally like a little person with feathers. It was that freaky! LOL

Crockett had his own little bowl for his morning non-sugar cereal and if Tim got his breakfast and Crockett didn't get his right away, that darn bird would sit and cuss you out in bird words until his showed up too. Walked all over the house instead of flying for some odd reason. Watched tv with Tim. Said a ton of words and sang/whistled Christmas tunes. It was pretty neat to watch how bonded he was with my nephew and how much that early socialization helped to make them good buddies. :)
