Getting a rant off my chest!
Sorry, but I really need to rant here.:rage::taz:
I had arranged to rehome a 4 year old male BP, most likely a normal but a really bright one. They were supposed to come over with him today, so over the last few days I bumped my two het albinos out of QT 2.5 weeks early and moved my rescued normal female's tub into the office to use those t-stats. Set up the new tub (still won't really balance the temps with the other tub) and everything and gave up my WHOLE DAY waiting... and NOTHING! No email, call, not a sign. The last email I got was on Tuesday saying 'see you Thursday!'. These people seemed so excited their snake was going to a good home... now this.
So now my bedroom is really crowded, since I haven't built that rack yet, and I risked moving the hets in early for nothing. I sent them another email (sent one this morning asking when they'd be here) asking what happened...and they'd better have a darn good explanation if they still want me to take that snake. Grr...
Sorry... thanks for 'listening'.

Re: Getting a rant off my chest!
that's really crappy luck! i don't get how people can be so inconsiderate!

Re: Getting a rant off my chest!
Well it could be two things.
Inconsiderate people who forgot or didn't think it was that important..
Or something happened. :[
Keep us updated! Sorry your so upset, I would be too, requiring a call or something.

Re: Getting a rant off my chest!
yeah...I'm not forgetting that something might have happened, but some sort of contact would be nice.
It's hard as heck, but I've decided to find a nice way to tell them to find another home for that snake. I really wanted to give him a good proper home...but you can't save them all, and a male normal just doesn't fit into my plans. I have very little space and have to conserve every bit.
SIGH... well, maybe if I can't find a nice older female corn at the show, I'll look around for a nice low priced BP. Who knows...

Make sure they get it to a home though. I'd feel horrible if I denied an offer and the snake ended up suffering or dying or something. :[
Contact would definitely be an important thing. Just make sure that there wasn't a specific reason why they couldn't contact you. Their phone could've died or something. I'm not taking their side, it's just always good to get stories straight.
If they're taking advantage of the situation or forgot then tell them to go climb a tree. :P

Re: Getting a rant off my chest!
I hate it when people aren't considerate enough to let you know something came up. Of course, there is the possibility of a true emergency, but this sort of thing happens way too often and they aren't all emergencies...
Sounds like in the long run it may be best for you though... like you said, you don't really need a normal male...

Re: Getting a rant off my chest!
Even if something "comes up" or whatever, I still can usually find 30 seconds to send a quick text "sorry will be late due to xxx" or whatever.
I have a few friends who will call at midnight to let you know why they couldn't chill with you at 8.30 like they had previously arranged ;)

Re: Getting a rant off my chest!
Well, that wasn't easy.
I got an email this morning stating that a family member had been put in the hospital, so they couldn't come out. Sorry to hear, but you had my phone number and it would have taken less than 5 min. to let me know...
Of course, she said they would be out tonight... so I had to stick to my decision and wrote back to tell her sorry, but I couldn't take him. Ari let me put him up as the 'heavy', with the reason that he wouldn't let me take in any other snakes that didn't fit in with breeding plans (which is a tiny bit true, actually). Even with that 'excuse', it still has never been easy for me to turn down a nice person... SIGH.
On the up side, Ari has decided to let me see if I can find a nice pastel female BP or low priced male spider(breed my own female) at the upcoming show! In ADDITION to an older female corn!! Of course, both snakes would have to come in under budget... but hey, you never know! :D
