    strangest thing happened..
    (well strange to me)

I was feeding my male a f/t rat. he usually doesn't take f/t, its happened only 1 time before that. He was all interested in it, in strike position, then all of a sudden, he used his body to push the rat to the side of the tub and then constricted it. ive never seen him or any of my other snakes do this. no striking what so ever!

anyone ever seen their snake do this? it was kinda cool!

My corn snake does that. He likes to push them into something, or flop all over and sprawl on it to death.

I would also make sure your heating up the F/T enough. If he got into strike position he possibly could have smelled but not "scene" it.

I have seen one of my balls do this only once. Its like she crushed it to the side of the tub.

I've had a few snakes "gently" take a rat and just start swallowing. It was really weird, I felt almost like I was doing an assisted feed...all I was doing was holding the rat.
