Now for the good news... DUW
A few of you may have seen the post regarding my hatchling that I lost...

Well I have had some good events in the last few days as well.

Here are pics of the day I was moving the last of the hatchlings (still in the egg) into a smaller container in the incubator.

I came home checked the incubator and found baby snakes all over the place. :)

Then as I was walking away I walked past my rack to see a big ol' mound of snake in there.

Instantly I knew that my girl Olive had FINALLY laid her clutch. I have been anticipating this for SO long. She had two prelay sheds... each one about two months apart... I was losing my mind not knowing what was going on with her. She has been breeding since October and building since January... I kid you not that this has been a crazy time.

She never missed a meal, till finally I had to stop feeding her. She was a robust 3kg prior to laying...

I was close to taking her to the vet.

    But yeah... http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...n_blahblah.gif

So here's the pics... pretty self-explanatory. (9 eggs btw - all have candled fertile).

If I absolutely HAD to take a wife... she would be it... and if I could only keep one snake, then she would be my girl. Getting eggs from her and knowing she is OK is the best thing to happen to me in ages.

And for the record... we are either cooking PH Hypos or Pastels. Doesn't matter though. I just really want a few of her daughters. She is the sweetest natured snake I have ever met and is an amazingly robust girl. Just short of 5 feet and 3kg (or was).

And here she is making Zoltan work for the sexy.

Taking a dip in her pool...

    Thanks for looking...
    Bruce

PS: she is my Echo, Branagh and Zoe all rolled into one super cool snake. :)

I used to own an art gallery and one of the best things about having artists as friends... the same thing as having snake breeders as friends *FREEBIES* :)

Thanks, I could not be happier with the outcome. I have my fingers crossed and will be anxious for the next two months, but that is part of it I guess.

You know how important my Olive is to me, so you know what this means. I did not know that she even knew how to hiss... but apparently she does!

I went back to look for the post, and I'm sorry for your loss, but this is great for you! Nine eggs! Tiene muchos huevos!

We lost one when the egg swelled up, drowning it, and it was hard! I hope these guys do well for you, and thanks for being so candid with your loss, because I think it goes a long way to help us all when folks do that. Unusual things like this happen, but unless we share, it's not going to help anyone.

Good luck with the snake you love so much, and here's to getting her to pre-prego weight soon!

Addendum... MR lazy snake has finally left his egg. I was starting to think it would be going off to college with him.

I popped him and got a nice pair of hemipenes... uhm... I mean I think they are nice ones? :)

Nice to get one normal male out of the bunch (although I am sure there will be days I will not be so happy to find that out!).

A friend's son, 12 years old, has offered to come and learn about BPs and earn himself a snake through tub cleaning, rat care, etc. Same with learning how to properly set a snake up and what technology he needs, etc.

So I think I have a home for Monsieur Paresseux.

Pics to come... he is a handsome one (probably why he is so lazy - already getting by on his looks).
