Whats the diff ?? Kings and Balls
I was just wondering what the differences between kings and balls are ?? From looking at the caresheets, there seems to be not much difference. The reason im asking is becasue a local breeder has a baby albino king for 75 and im thinking of snatching it up. If anyone has any info id appreciate it. Im just curious how vastly the husbandry/diet/temperament differs
Re: Whats the diff ?? Kings and Balls
I know ball pythons won't eat eachother when they're housed together and that kings will keep eating no matter what. Kings and milks musk on you when you first get them, they get used to being handled after a while though and stop. I know my milk is flighty and always trying to get away, when a ball just curls up doesn't it? last thing, kings and milks are able to escape from a very small crack, make sure you have a VERY secure cage.
hope I covered everything, I don't own a ball though, just kind of assuming/making educated guesses
Re: Whats the diff ?? Kings and Balls
I have had kings in the past and balls now so basically they can both live in tubs all there lives IMO kings like to be out and about alot more and love to move around I have never been bite by a king they are super sweet in nature and enjoy being handled but do move around alot they are much thinner around then a ball is but get almost as big in length there prey is smaller and stayes smaller they also grow slower than a ball they stay on pinkies for a good while and max out on small rats at the bigest but could live on mice for a long time hope this helps
Re: Whats the diff ?? Kings and Balls
Kings aren't as finiky eaters (though my ball will eat anything that moves or doesn't!)
They do not require as high temps or humidity and are more hardy. They will take the same prey... just base it on their size.
Re: Whats the diff ?? Kings and Balls
I have an albino king, have had 3 in total and also own a ball. Kings are hearty eaters, don't require as much heat or humidity. 40 to 50% humidity is enough for a king, and low 80s for temperature on the warmer side and mid 70s on the cooler side. They are quite cranky at a young age but can be tamed. They are escape artists due to their small size and squirmy behavior.

This tub has a screen in the top now to let more heat enter from the lamp.
