    I Got some ASF's
Well this many people can't be wrong so i drove 150 mile round trip to pick up my ASf trio tonight. I will give a day or so to settle in and then I will post pics. I held all three of them at the breeders with no bites or even attemps. They don't like to be held but I don't think they will be charging me to bite in the cage. Wish me luck. I have some balls that are waiting.

Good luck breeding them! Be careful if your not used to holding them.. I hold them by their scruff like this:

They are capable of jumping like.. 2-3 ft into the air if you try to just pick them up. Picking them up by their tail can really hurt them and upset them, as well as running the risk of de-skinning the tail. (happened to me before previously with normal mice)

You don't have to worry about them biting though, unless you get an angry momma.
They won't fight with each other either, they're very social.

#1. traditionaly the males when babies are present are the most aggressive biters.

#2. They are only social with other asf's that they have grown up with, and not been seperated from. If you introduce older strangers, or reintroduce older cage mates after a time of seperation, they will likely fight, and sometimes kill / eat each other.

Yep boy can they jump! We have two of our colonies in 30 gallon glass tanks. That's a pretty deep tank and they can, from a stand still, jump straight up and land on the top of their glass water bottle. Pretty impressive!

Also means you want metal mesh lids because once they are up on that water bottle it's all about seeing if they can chew out of that mesh.

Once they have bred and have young in there with them, do be careful. They can be fine one minute and hanging off your finger the next and they have VERY sharp, slicing teeth.
