    Refusal to shed?!?!?
Has anybody had a snake refuse to shed? The first girl of mine to lay this season laid eggs on 4/14. Since that time she has eaten 3 times. She went into deep shed and then her eyes cleared up about 2 weeks ago but she still hasn't shed it yet. Her skin is starting to get a bit wrinkly but she won't shed it off. Her humidity is on point plus I mist her down every day. She has a hide box to peel it off but isn't doing it. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated....

I don't have any experience with breeder females, so I dunno. I would probably avoid misting the snake directly when she goes into shed. I know that it's bad to soak them pre-shed, so I assume that misting could also be not so good. Whatever happens, good luck. Hope it all comes off for you in the end...

I would suggest giving her a bath, it sounds like she just had a bad shed. If you put a stick or something rough in the bath with them they usually manage to get most of it off.

I would see if she does shed in a couple of days.. If not, put her in a damp pillowcase and let her rub it all off in there.

    ***update***
I soaked her in a tub of warm water for about 30 minutes then put her back in the rack. When I checked on her the next day she had shed..... thanks for all the input....
