    Feeding Question
    Hey guys..and girls:
I have a question about feeding. Recently my Ball Python just came off a 6 month feeding strike. He finally ate for the first time last Monday and then ate with out a problem this monday as well. I gave him on both feeds a small rat.

He seemed to devour it in no time both times. Because of how quickly he took both feeds I was thinking about feeding him a second small rat as he looked like he might have looked for more.

He's about 2-3YO, over 4' in length and weights just under 1600g.

Yesterday when I fed him no sooner then I lowered the box with the rat in it down and was trying to shake the rat out, he immediately struck at it a couple times before the rat fell out. He was very aggressive to the likes I never saw him that aggressive on food before. So I was wondering if maybe I should have feed him a second rat or possibly next week just try a med sized rat? Any thoughts?

Personally, I think you should just stick to the schedule and feed him a slightly bigger pray item next week.

Overfeeding probably wouldn't be a very good thing. ;]

    Re: Feeding Question
I would continue feeding him one small rat per week for another two feedings before increasing the size or frequency of meals. This will allow his digestive system to get back on track after being off feed for 6 months.
He's eating again and that's the most important thing. There's really no reason to push things.
