nomore hiding.

i've recently made the switch from a 20 gal long glass tank to a 41qt sterilite tub setup..and i've noticed that my BP doesnt use her hides as much. is this a common thing once you make that change..i've also read that tubs can also act as a hide themselves being as though the clarity of the tub is somewhat blurry.

Some of my snakes use the hides, some don't. I find that when you switch the BP's enclosure, it takes them a few days to "find" the hide during which time they squeeze themselves between the hide and tub, or the waterbowl and side of the tub. Give her a couple of days and you may find her in there one day.

My BP will only use it's hide sometimes. Right now its squished up between the water dish and the glass.

Due to the nature of most tubs being less than glass clear, the snake may feel less exposed and safer to explore it's home. Like Connie mentioned sometimes it takes them awhile to go into their hide when it's placed in a new home (or a whole new hide). I've actually showed some of mine their hide by pointing their head that way and it's like..."oh well there's MY hide!" and off they go in it. :)

Just watch the snake, observe quietly and watch for patterns. That will likely give you tons of information about what your snake is up to in it's new home.
