    Hovabator any good?
    I was just looking and for a beginning breeder who isnt hatching many clutches yet are Hovabators good? They just seem nice it has its own thermostat and everything....

    I have 6 havabators and I have hatched 2500 bob white eggs this year and I got my first clutch in today Het Albinos. Don't trust the temp. bulb that comes with it!!!!

    Use my own thermometer? What model do you have? I notice some models say they are not recommended for reptiles..

    I used the acurite from wally world and put probe in the box with the eggs. It will give you two temps and humidity.

    Lol not the thermometer model haha... just read my post and it was confusing.. what i meant to say is what hovabator do you use?

    I use the picture window model 1582.
    Just make sure you use a thermostat to control the temps and add a humidity gage to monitor that.

    They don't hold much at all.
    You'll eventually want to go with a larger capacity one.

    The hovabator that Im looking at has a built in thermostat. Should I still use another thermostat?

    Yes. The one it comes with is not that accurate.
    Let it run wide open and control it with a seperate thermostat.
