Out with the old, In with the new 40gallon long setup!
Got rid of my old setup, a 29 gallon tall. Got a new shiny 40 gallon long kritter keeper. Picked up some dial type thermometers(one warm and one cool) and a humidity gauge for the center. Added an extra hide on the cool side and a nice slate rock in the middle (free from the beach) baked the rock a while to kill the nasties of course.

    ( drumroll..... )

Looking good, what's your humidity % at with the open screen? I had to tape down foil around 90% of my screen the keep the humidity and heat up. Otherwise it's step in the right direction.

yepper. cover up 90% of that screen with foil, then duct tape. (no tape on inside of tank!!!!) Got a pic of the snake? He needs to be a big snake for those hides to not be too big.

yeah i plexiglassed the top for while, worked out perfect.

Then she had a hard shed so i replaced her hard to clean cave dish with a water dish 4kats or dogs with the barrell of water constantly flowing it to full.

After that it has been full sheds ever since. With proper humidity with an open screen. Without the plexiglass too.

Shes always hiding so i basically get to look at the tank ALOT...lol

he is about 2.5 - 3 feet now. I have a pretty good size UTH on the hot side, keeps it about 80-84 in there. I run a heat lamp during the moring til about mid afternoon on a timer. My humidity is anywhere from 60-75% depending. i mist daily and have a brick of moss im gonna use to help keep that higher. no plans to tape up the lid, saran wrap may be a possibility though.

80-84 seems a little cool (for the warm side) My warm side UTH is set for 92-94 degrees. Just my :2cent:

its 80-84 without the 50w heat lamp running. it comes close to 90 with it on.
