    Flexwatt First Time User Help
I think this is in the right place.. D:
Move it if it is not please. ^_^

So I just set up the new bin recommended and updated HERE. I also posted pictures there of my new set up. :]

However, I bought a flexwatt and had it soldered for me. All good right? I plugged in my Ranco Thermostat and set it at Temp: F, 90, HI, and 1 (I don't know what the last setting was but it just had single digit numbers..)
I plugged in the flexwatt to the thermostat bar and clicked the switch to on.
The switch didn't light up like I expected it to.. and the flexwatt has been on for about an hour without heating up.

    What am I doing wrong?

I plugged in the flexwatt directly into the socket now and it seems that it does heat up.
Why won't it work through the thermostat?

It sounds like you may have narrowed it down to a bad thermostat. I would recommend plugging in something like a lamp into the thermostat, setting it at the highest setting and see if the lamp comes on. If not, bad t-stat... If it does, then you may need to look into probe placement...

I have never run flex watt without a t'stat because they get too hot...I am told.
Rich ought to be able to answer your "how hot" question :)

I'll watch the probe carefully as it is right above the flexwatt and if it gets too hot to the touch and temp. I'll unplug it.

Flexwatt should never be run without a thermostat as it can get way too hot and be a fire hazard. I'd suggest you unplug it and use a red light or CHE while you get a new thermostat. It should only take a day or so to have one shipped to you.
