Someone's a real oldie...
I was talking with this guy about some edits I made on Wikipedia about Hognose snakes and I asked him if he tried to produce Hognose snake morphs and this is what he said:
Quote:
…As for the morphs, except for a few old preserved specimens, I haven't owned any snakes since 1990. But even back in the 1980s when I had lots of them, I was never interested in albinos. I've always considered that they have an unnatural look that I find unattractive.
And I'm just thinking: Come on man! Get in the present! Who cares if they look "unnatural"?!

Some people just like different things.

how can you knock someone for their preferences?

You still got to admit that it is kind of a weird thing to say these days.
Re: Someone's a real oldie...
No, actually there is a large range of folks who prefer the original wild types. They don't like albinos, or other morphs really. If he likes only the originals, then what's wrong with that?
Re: Someone's a real oldie...
i disagree... these days? just because interest in morphs is in full swing doesn't mean that everyone has to fall in line with it. Many people around now have no interest in morphs, and don't approve of them.
Re: Someone's a real oldie...
I personally only really like the "wild" versions of most snakes. Even the ball pythons I think are the most beautiful in their "natural" clothes. That being said I do also like the mojave, as it seems to look like an exaggerated natural. I don't like albinos at all, but I do like the blue eyed lucies...it's all personal preference.

If there aren't people like him in the world, who's gonna buy all your normal males when the odds gods decide to pass you up one breeding season?
