Herpstat humidity controller

Has everybody seen this already? How freakin cool would this be?? Especially for herps that are verrry particular about humidity. BRB's anyone? :)
Re: Herpstat humidity controller
SWEET! That is awesome... hope it doesn't cost an arm and a leg!
Re: Herpstat humidity controller
its probably going to be mainly for like poison dart frogs, or herps that require a most environment
because it is supposed to be plugged into misters, foggers etc.

Whoops... I posted this in BP husbandry didn't I... :( Sorry!
I think it could theoretically work for anything, but you're right that it is more suited towards higher humidity animals. That's why I mentioned BRB's - I heard they are extremely particular about humidity. Would be perfect for a frog tank.

I wouldn't say it will not benefit snakes though as I would love to get one and hook it up to the humidifier in the snake room. This way I could keep the humidity in the room at a nice 55% to 60% humidity even though I use forced air heat and cooling in my house which really draws the humidity down quickly. Might not be something every tub would need, but it would be nice for the snake room as a whole! Attach it to the rack furthest from the humidifier and build an auto fill system into the humidifier. No humidity worries any more!
Re: Herpstat humidity controller
I think it would be awesome for my green tree pythons-but especially if it allows for a nighttime increase in humidity....
Re: Herpstat humidity controller
Just a small update on this product.
It is supposed to be released for sale around July 1st and it will retail in the $199 range.
I E-mailed them and asked. Sorry no need for any Beta testers. :(
The price would be a little pricey for individual ball pythons considering they are not that sensitive to Humidity given the wide range of humidity listed as recommended, but it may work good for keeping a rooms humidity up that houses several Ball Pythons.
Re: Herpstat humidity controller
Nothing is final on the price but I am trying to fit it in around there. I finished the rough draft of the manual yesterday. I feel it will need an expanded manual in the future. You can check out my draft manual at:

This product is for running misting systems, foggers, room humidifiers, ect. Its pretty neat. I also tested this really inexpensive (sub $50 complete) product called TropicAire Humidifier that uses an aquarium pump setup and it worked great for small enclosures with this controller. I have also tested the ultrasonic foggers, and the MistKing misting systems with great success. The Herpstat Humidity has alot of features packed into it and we have already had alot of feedback and buzz from the community so I expect it to do well. Its housed in the same enclosure as our Herpstat ND so its a hangable unit. The price of the sensor is what bumps the price up as just the component costs us around $30 then we have to build it into a enclosure with a pcb board and cable. Thats been my biggest challenge price wise. :D So don't let your animals chew on the cords for these. Its an all digital sensor though so I feel its well worth the price. I am really pushing for the July 1st release so hopefully everything lines up.
Oh, and like the rest of our products.. Code Written, Developed, Boards Soldered, Products Assembled and Tested... Made in USA :salute:

Woo, thanks for the update Dion! Can't wait to try one of these puppies out...
Beyond what you have tested this new product on, will/would you recommend any particular fogger/humidifier product over another to work with your new product for those of us who don't any yet but wanna get in on lovely Herpstat regulated moisture? =D
Re: Herpstat humidity controller
We have tried the Mist King professional misting systems, Zoomed foggers and the Tropic-Aire Terrarium Humidifier and Air Exchanger. All worked well. I had never heard of the Tropic-Aire device which is really inexpensive (around $15 online if you google around) and then you just need to buy an aquarium air pump (usually around $20). Its a neat setup that uses the aquarium pump to blow into a jug of water which creates bubble and a tube out of the lid carries the humid air into your enclosure. Very simplistic and it works well for cages to bump up the humidity without saturating it with water. The fogger was nice and had a cool affect. The misting system was of course king as far as getting water in the enclosure. All systems worked well and I think each system is targeted to a different audience. When I had my ball pythons the Tropic-Air would have been perfect to help out around shed time. It also might be a solution for integration into a incubator. We did launch the Herpstat Humidity the other day at the $199 MSRP. The manual and specs are on our website. Everyone have a great holiday! :salute:
