    Plug in dimmer switch?
I remember someone mentioning a good plug in dimmer switch on this site, but I am having trouble finding it. I need a warmer cool side for my bp's, and to do this I am considering plugging a dimmer into their thermostat (think extension cord with a rheostat built into it). There are no hardware stores or any store I can find that has them - so can anyone give me a name or a site where I could order one?

(Not sure yet if I will do this or just buy another thermostat.)

    Thanks in advance.

You just need a lamp dimmer. You can get them at home depot, lowes, wal-mart and pretty much any other hardware stores. If you really dont think they have it, just google or ebay it.

They don't have it, at least in my area. I've looked everywhere, trust me. They only have the ones that you can install into a wall, or ones that are "touch" dimmers which only have one or two settings.

I remember someone saying a brand that they have found to be reliable, but I don't remember what it was...

Home Depot or Lowe's. They go by the name Lutron Credenza. Usually run $10-something.

Thats what i use (the one satanic said, and Icy linked) Works perfect for my heat light (to raise ambient), and is easy to use. Only thing is if you get that model, the brighter the LED is the less electricity to the heating unit, and vise versa, took me awhile to figure out with a CHE as they have no light.

If you want to find it locally They are found in a lighting isle in Home depot, in a section with a few different models, it cost me $12. It should be near the lamps,

You should be able to use the product number on the link to find it locally at Home depot if you dont want it shipped.
