Re: breeding lemon pastels
A male what?
I'm assuming you are talking about lemon Pastels.
If you bred a Pastel to a normal, half of the animals hatched should be Pastels.
Re: breeding lemon pastels
yes im talking about a lemon pastel what im trying to figure out is if i breed a male lemon to a normal would half of the lemon babies be lighter in color than if i bread a lemon to a lemon:confused:
Re: breeding lemon pastels
Ummm... No. Why would they be?
Re: breeding lemon pastels
it is variable... you want to aim for selective breeding... but light can throw darks, and a slow burn can throw a smoker...

No, your logic is backwards. Lemon pastel (a bright bright snake) bred to a normal (regular pattern which is dark) the pastels "in theory" will be darker.
lemon (bright) to lemon (bright) "in theory" = BRIGHTER snakes......but its not always true.
Re: breeding lemon pastels
At depends on the normal. Light normals tend to throw lighter babies and dark normals darker babies. Also depends how light the pastel is too. Some can be real brown almost like a normal.
So there are several variables. For the most part lighter cleaner animals should through lighter cleaner babies.
