    Moving help...
    Hi everyone!

So I am moving on Saturday. I am really excited about the move, it will be our very first house as newly weds!!
My only concern is moving our snakes. Is there a good way and a bad way to move them? I just don't want to disturb them. We aren't moving provinces or anything like that, it not that far to go. Can i just leave them in their enclosures and stick them in the truck and be on our way?

    thanks for the help

You could maybe do that, depending on the enclosures. Or use snake bags (pillow cases) tied off a the end to avoid the snakes from bumping around and such.

Make sure the snakes aren't in direct sunlight in the car. It gets surprisingly hot, and they can get heat stressed as a result.

dont listen to these people. there is only one thing to do when you are moving with snakes, you pack them up very carefully make sure they have plenty of heat and are comfy, and ship them to me. then you go head and move the rest of your stuff and well i guess thats its ;) LOL

JonV seems to have pointed you in the right direction! If you're not moving far then the snakes should be fine as long as they are secured in a bag or tub padded with paper towels (same sort of things you would expect them to be shipped in, so they cannot harm themselves on a bumpy car ride!)

I wouldn't leave them in the cages unless they are secured (in bag or tub placed in cage) and all water dishes/hides/decorations are removed so that nothing falls onto them.

I went from Texas to AZ with a couple tarantulas and had them all in padded containers and put them in a box with towels around them to keep everything tight so they wouldn't move around for the ride - it was a 2 day drive and they all got home safe!

    lol... nice try!!

Thanks guys... i never really thought about all the stuff in their tank that could be potentially harmful... stationary it fine... but in a moving vehicle anything could be harmful!! Thanks for the input!!
