Most anticipated clutch of '08
We got our most anticipated clutch of 2008 this afternoon. Here is a pic of our Double Het. True Ghost female bred by our DH True Ghost male sitting on eggs. I palpated 8 follicles during breeding season, and was very happy about those numbers. Well, she threw us a bit of a curve, and laid 6 eggs and 2 slugs. Of the 6 eggs, 2of them have very minimal veins, and may not makeit. Only time will tell. At worst, I still have 4 shots at the True Ghost. I am off to go pray to the Ball Gods, but I will leave you guys with a pic.
p.s. The clutch of 6 eggs weighed 639 grams, so they are big eggs, but three of them have very small boobs on one end.

Hmmm, normally it is a cross between Hypo and Anerythristic (No yellow or red). Not sure what Tim's combo consists of, maybe he will enlighten us? :gj:
Re: Most anticipated clutch of '08

Re: Most anticipated clutch of '08
Best of luck on this clutch, I would looooove to see an Axthantic Hypo!!
Re: Most anticipated clutch of '08
Congratulations Tim! Sorry to hear about the slugs - are you going to incubate them anyway? I had two slugs in my last clutch as well and I figure I'll give them a shot - if they get nasty, I'll throw them out.
Re: Most anticipated clutch of '08
Thanks everybody. This cross is from a Butterscotch Hypo and a VPI line Axanthic. Robin, these were not infertiles (i.e. decent looking eggs with no veins), they were slugs. I have incubated them before, but they never do anything. I just toss them now.

Great stuff and good luck Tim! :)
