    That's my girl!
I am SO proud! For those of you who don't know, I have a 9 year old daughter named Katrina. Here she is:

Bit of background: She lives in Austin with her dad and is the most clever little thing. When she was two she could identify most animals, by species, from pictures. She has always been an animal lover like her mom.

I just never knew how much of one until recently! I heard from her father that, while at school a few weeks ago a garter snake was found in the hallway. My daughter stepped up and kept some boys and teachers from hurting it until a janitor could pick it up and take it outside!!
Then, as if this weren't enough, a few days ago another snake was seen on the playground this time...but this one was a copperhead! Katy recognized it and kept the other kids away! Sadly, seeing it was poisonous the staff killed it...and Katy was sorry that they had to. I love that kid!

Oh BTW, she is saving up her allowance as a fund to be able to come up and visit me. One of the things she is looking forward to doing while here is helping me take care of the snakes. :D:D:D
