    Ball not drinking?
Hey friends! I am a newbie and I have been guilty of stalking ball-pythons.net for almost a year. 3 weeks ago I brought a Ball after I set up everything necessary for the snake. He has really heathy appetite. So far I fed him one normal sized mouse every 4 days never miss a beat. I am little worried because I never seen him drink and there is no feces at all ever since I brought him home. Should I be worried? Also he is about to enter his shedding process, his eyes are blueish cloudy and his colors are really dull. Should I keep handling him or just leave him alone until he is done with shedding?

    You guys are amazing!

Hope you can help me out with my new snake :)

First of all, Welcome to the forum!

They poo when they're ready to poo and they drink when they wanna drink...You typically don't see them drink, but on the occasion you will catch them in the act.

Just make sure your humidity is at about 50-60% and he will shed fine :gj:

I think I went over a year before I ever saw one of my snakes drink......no big deal. Provide the water and it will drink. Unless you watch the snake 24 hours a day, chances are there is alot that you do not see.

3 weeks is no time to worry about feces. My ball python goes about once a month or so...sometimes longer.

Handling during shed is up to you, but most would recommend not to handle. The snake may be defensive (it can't see well) and handling can cause unwanted stress.

i don't handle my snake while he's in shed because he's already irritated and i think it's just nicer to leave him alone and let him do his thing. i make sure the humidity is up and give him something to rub on to get the shed off. i also chage out his water dish while he's in shed from something more flat and shallow to something deeper he can soak in if he so chooses.

how old is your snake? do you have a weight on him or any pix? every 4 days (from what i have read) is the kind of feeding schedual that you'd give a baby ball. i feed my BP every 7 days!

Whoa... you guys replied so fast, I am impressed lol. Unfortunately I do not know how old the snake is and how much he weight. I will weight him as soon as I get a scale and he is about 2 feet in length and I will post some pictures on here soon.

When I first brought my little guy, I saw him drink like four or five times... but only because I used to check him out every 5 minutes LOL =)
