Advertising?
As we're starting to have enough stock to begin selling some, we're curious how everybody here finds feeders when they're looking for them, if you don't raise all of your own.
We've thought about advertising on Kingsnake's classifieds, but wonder if thats really where it needs to go, without us currently shipping. Any suggestions on where you would look for feeder breeders if you were needing one? Thanks!

If shipping is unavailable I would look locally for customers. Talk to people at local pet stores and let them know you sell feeders.

Well, see, thats where the catch comes in. There is no truly local pet store. The closest one that is not a major chain (and Petco is just not helpful when it comes to rodents), is 40 miles away. We have gotten some of our business from another town about 45 miles away, and now supply the pet store there some.
We're hoping that eventually not having a local store will be in our favor, but it does make getting the word out more difficult it seems.

Would online classifieds be worth paying for in your opinion? We do have one paid ad in a weekly paper here, but the other newspapers are very high for their classified ads so we've been trying to avoid it for now.

Craigs list if you would have been in oklahoma city I would jump on low priced feeders every week. All the shops in the city are about to bump up prices on feeders quite a bit from what I heard from store owners.
Stillwater is a drive for feeders with gas prices these days.

We have left OKC alone for the most part currently, as there seems to be more competition that direction, rather than Tulsa or Enid. However, right now Edmond may become my food source, so we may be changing that eventually and trying to work into an Edmond/OKC route. Right now we're trying to build up the Enid one enough first.
I definitely understand about the drive, gas prices are crazy, even here. My guess would be feeder prices are getting bumped because of feed prices, which are going crazy right now.
