There was another thread on this already but this article describes the event completely different than the one in the other thread. In the other article it was the mom that moved the snake to the bucket. The responses to the article just crack me up.

They reacted properly. With out knowing what species of snake it was they we fearing for their baby's safety. This is not an irrational action and in fact something that any person unfamiliar with snakes would do. I applaud them for calling animal control instead of destroying the animal them selves it show that regardless of being afraid of the animal they saw it as a living creature that deserved the right to live. BRAVO!!

Your right; but it still cracks me up because I know it was just a kingsnake. Not saying they were wrong, after all most of them appeared to be mothers that were responding.

The article should be proof that SNAKE POSE NO THREAT TO HUMANS.

The snake was in the crib with the child....NO HARM CAME TO THE CHILD.

Guess snakes are not that dangerous after all ;)

The thing that bugged me about it was the fact they said the snake was constricting around the babies leg, yet when they picked the baby up it fell off. It made it sound like the baby's foot was turning blue or something. Oh well. No love for the 'baby' snake huh?

I'm glad they didn't kill the snake too. Good point Ed. Although why that is newsworthy is a bit beyond me.
