Got Them To Eat Today!!!!

After 6 weeks I got my het albino to take a meal,figured something out that worked maybe it could help somebody else,every week when I prescent & try to feed my female het would come out & be very interested but would not strike & kill in almost 7 weeks ,seems very prey shy,well I took a old breeder mouse put in the cage live , no dice get close & the mouse would sniff she would back off,so I killed the mouse & left it in the cage & left them alone & SHE ATE IT,ALL MY SNAKES ATE TODAY:banana:,EXCEPT my very shy het albino male he's been off for 6 weeks im going to try a pre killed mouse tonight,if he don't eat it Ill give it to the female.Also my two CB normal females ate that I got this saturday & my pastel took a rat too! so they are all fed except for my male,which im not to worried about because he may go to make room for a visable albino male,hopefully they will eat every week now!! what a relief im learning real fast to be patient with BALL PYTHONS!

jeez that is awesome! i got ten bp's three weeks ago, gave them one week to acclimate themselves, then fed last monday, tried live first, nothing. then killed the pinks, left them in overnight and four ate. i froze the rest. then this monday, i tried the already frozen pinks from previous week, none of them got eaten, and so i went and bought live pinks again, and only three ate. all the snakes had the pinks in their tubs overnight and most of today as well, but no luck. im not too worried since its only been three weeks but kanehekili is starting to look really really thin and im worried about him, i am thinking force feed if he doesnt do the job himself next week. but im glad that your snakes are doing great! maybe i need some of that patience haha

Try live hopper mice. They don't usually recognize rat pinks as food since they don't smell like food and don't move much.

There's no need to force feed, especially if they've eaten before.

What size tubs are they in? Anything bigger than 6qt and they're going to be stressed if they are tiny babies.
