    Hides For Large Snakes Revisited
Ok, so, I need some advice on making home made hides big enough for Alex.

I tought I had a resolution in my first thread with using shoeboxes. Well, this monster is tearing up the shoeboxes. I am not sure how long they will last. He is very active at night. When I fed him on Firday, the rat went in the hide and he attack it with such force that the hide popped off of him.

This guy is 5' 4" and weighs in at ~3000G as of last night. Just look in my gallery for pics of him. And unlike the picture in there, he does have 2 hides in there.

    So I need suggestions.

The biggest commercial hides I can find are at reptile basics and they are just too small. I need something that's the size of these showboxes but more sturdy.

    Thanks in advance.

Sterelite 12qt dish tubs from WalMart or large VanNess litter pans. Great hides for larger snakes. :)

Cat litter box is a very good option. Just turn it upside down and cut out an opening.

Yep, that's what I use for my biggens. Works great and economical.

It's not a homemade hide, but my three year old IJCP's actually use the large freedom breeder hides.

I don't think my IJCP's will continue to fit in there for too much longer though. I think in a year or two, I'll have to come up with something else.
