    Flood Waters
We received 7.6 inches of rain 3 days ago and are expecting 3 more inches tonight. The Embarrass river, which is only about 100 yards from my front door, has decided to break the old record for flooding and breach the levee. Flood stage is 19 feet...it is now at 27.7 feet and rising. My house may be seriously in trouble if it gets much higher...and the bad news is...I dropped my flood insurance last year when I payed the mortgage off. My cousin has already lost everything, they had no warning that the levee was going to break. They lost several vehicles including atv's plus their house and belongings. Please keep all of us here in your thoughts and prayers.

This is a picture of the levee breach which is just about 1/8th of a mile from my house.

This is a picture just down the road from the levee breach.

This is a picture of my Daughter, Grandson and Granddaughter wading in the flooded area just down the road from my house.

I guess this dude thought the flood was to much and needed to go on dry land.

This is just a pic out the car window from a neighboring town.

Anyone want to volunteer to help me fill sand bags?

I should have taken pictures today. We got 6 inches last night. 2 of the 4 roads across town are under water and the road to the town north of us is underwater. Not nearly as bad as last july 1st and 2nd but it was getting there. It has been pretty bad. One road out of my neighborhood was under about 5 feet of water the other was about a foot away from being covered. Last time both roads were covered was 1986. That flood covered the entire first story of my elementary school.

EDIT: I JUST GOT SOME PICTURES FROM A FRIEND ... I will post them soon.

I have the solution! all we need to do is re-route all that water to my dying florida lawn!!! LOL

All joking aside, I have seen first hand what weather is capable of... and I wish you and your loved ones all the luck in the world.

I guess all that water is mud dirty huh? Sorry, just have to ask being a scuba diver....

This is looking towards our city park. It is about a half mile up the road under a lot of water.

Those white things are the tops of soccer goals.

The next two were my high school parking lot.

The next two were the only roads out of my neighborhood.

And finally one of the last two remaining roads to the other side of town.

Thanks to my friend jennifer for getting these pictures. And my family is 100 percent safe. We live on a large hill and flood waters cannot get to us.

EDIT: In the second picture of the road out of my neighborhood the water topped out over that mailbox.

oh no! I got stuck at my house for a week quite a few years back because of flooding on the Columbia River in WA. Luckily our house was at the base of the hill and stayed a few feet above the water! good luck!
