    Questions about dumbo rat genetics
I know, I need to get pictures...shaddup...=) I promise I will; I SERIOUSLY have some of the cutest babies right now. =D

So one of my breeder boys* is a blaze dumbo and so, of course, many of his babies have dumbo ears.

Is dumbo ears like a co-dom thing that can combine with berkie/hooded/whatever or am I not guessing the gene correctly? =)

*I have two breeder boys in one tub. I know I only need one, but I ended up with two and um...and kinda having a hard time feeding one off. Anywho, girls get "double-trouble" with them, so I'm guessing the mixed litters I'm seeing are part the black hooded boy ("Tom Cruise") and part dumbo ("Dumbo" - great imagination, I know...I rarely name rodents).

Dumbo is a simple recessive. I don't know if you can have a mixed litter sired by two different fathers. I know it's possible in snakes, but I'm not sure how rats would work. I'm not entirely sure about that.

As to the litter of dumbos, I have an entire litter of dumbos from a dumbo x dumbo breeding. They're all either blue or siamese! Well, there is one black girl, I think she's a keeper!

Oh, I have a dumbo named dumbo. But she's russian blue, so it was fitting. I also have a Gumbo, and a gumdrop that are both siamese just to make things confusing! :P

You would make my day if you posted babie siamese dumbos and blues!!! I want a siamese very badly. My next male will be a siamese dumbo.

Congrats on the cute babies Cass! I have some cute babie rats, and they have pics that I need to post.
